That’s right. My Internet goes twice as fast now. I know, I know: Just about anyone that reads this is likely to be on something that ends in ‘mbps’ and not ‘kbps’. Nevertheless, 256 kbps is still double 128 kbs. See…

And what’s more it’s 265 k both ways now, where before it was 64 kbps up. And. It also.. costs.. the same. Rather nice.

Yes it is true. If you are blissfully unaware of this group, my sympathy. Then go check them out. If you do know them and are in South America now or Europe in a month or two, then go to http://www.queensryche.com/tour/
Yes people, this is the time of year when I am sorry I’m not anywhere in the EU or UK vicinity. This is when the summer gig season begins. Well in a couple months anyway, but bookings are open now for most of the big shows. Pretty soon rock and roll will be pumping out of stadiums, theaters and other venues across Europe. And I won’t be part of it. *sigh*.

Not a rare occurrence by any means. But sometimes the timing is just right:
It helps hugely to improve your mood when you have a gorgeous and subtly changing view just when you need a snack and 10 minutes to just sit and unwind after a long and exhausting week. Ahh. Sometimes the universe is just right.

So now that I have always on internet again (albeit slow) I started up my ipv6 tunnel again. I did have a nagging worry that after almost 6 months of being down it would have expired or something, but when I logged onto SixXS.net all my details and credits were still there. Nice. And a quick /etc/init.d/aiccu start on the Gentoo box and I was ping6-ing happily.
Next step was to browse their page of “cool stuff”. And what do you know there were some additions to the list of audio streams available on ipv6, including Virgin Radio. Also turns out iTunes has built in ipv6 support. Who knew! So as I type this I’m listening to the 32k ipv6 unicast stream of Virgin Radio. Nice. Wish I had enough bandwidth to manage the 128k stream. But we can’t have everything I suppose.

Welcome. To yet another blog. Yet another domain. Hopefully this domain is location-agnostic enough and unrelated to anything else too specific to me and here and now that it can survive future changes in my life and can remain a little hub of me-ness on the intarweb.
Welcome. Enjoy. Drop by again.
